It's me luv's burfday today, and I promised to bake him a strawberry rhubarb pie. The little one was not feeling well this morning, so I had to scramble around and find a sitter while I went to a meeting. Luckily, the Giant Cousin was able to come, hang out, play the guitar, and make birthday cards. The pie is in the oven, with a variation of the pate brisée crust from Joy of Cooking. I am in the doghouse because I have an opening to attend and will miss the birthday party. My mother-in-law said I should bake a pie and set the table. "Setting the table goes a long way dear."
